Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked on projects ranging from labeling tools, to assembling an electrical plug, to designing supports using CAD software. I also had the responsibility of keeping the work area clean and organized.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned to use DraftSight which is a 2D CAD software and how to drive a forklift. I also learned to troubleshoot multiple different problems that occur with the machines I worked with. It was beneficial to my learning to have hands on projects and to have the freedom to make mistakes, correct them, or learn from them. I also learned valuable time management skills and had opportunities to develop my leadership skills.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this experience was the exposure to a real engineering working environment and the opportunity to watch experienced engineers approach problems everyday. I also enjoyed working with a group of people and adding value to the team.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
