Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
During my final co-op rotation, I was able to be much more independent by heading projects on my own. I contributed to many mechanical engineering designs and analyses associated with new product launches. I was also able to perform finite element analyses to determine thermal strains associated with heat generated from new LED assemblies.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained leadership, program management, and professionalism skills. I believe these were the most beneficial in my progression as an engineer, outside of technical skills associated with mechanical engineering design.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I believe my favorite part of this co-op rotation was being able to collaborate and review the designs and analyses I produced and to see the final assemblies that resulted from that engineering work.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This rotation allowed me to refine my engineering skillset and create a clearer career path for myself.
