Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I was tasked with helping to design reusable cores for FPGAs. We wanted to be able to take any reusable amount of code and be able to place it in any other project. I worked on a lot of VHDL in order to produce a reusable core.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained the beginner's knowledge on how VHDL is written. I hadn't had any experience with VHDL before going into the workplace. After working with it for a couple of months, I feel as if I have at least a basic understanding of how it works.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of the co-op experience was getting to know all of the new things that I did. I enjoyed getting to know a new programming language and I also enjoyed getting to design for an FPGA.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has reaffirmed my career goals in a computer engineering field.
