Description of the Organization
Flexco designs and manufactures conveyor belt products for a wide range of applications. They have locations in 10 countries with customers in more than 150 countries.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I did engineering work involving testing, designing, building, and analyzing data. A lot of the projects took grit and determination, because they were massive and had different obstacles to tackle the whole way through. I like a challenge since it does my heart good to see it all finished and to feel accomplished at what I had achieved.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned about designing things to be machined and assembled. I also got to see manufacturing processes and spent some time running test equipment. Above all else, I learned how to get things done in an engineering and manufacturing environment where good planning and communication is key to my success.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I used my skills to design a new fixture that will be used in a rig that performs tests.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I like Flexco a lot and I hope one day they might consider keeping me for further employment.
