JR has grown to become a leading capital equipment designer, integrator, and manufacturer throughout the world.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
During my time as a mechanical engineering intern I was tasked with detailing drawing packages for other Mechanical Engineers, updating redline drawings received from Build crews/project closeouts, checking of peer drawing packages, and I also had the opportunity to do a little design work such as designing a ramp for a machine that was being built.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained a lot of design experience and became much more proficient with the design software used by JR Automation called Creo.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this co-op experience has been working alongside very experienced engineers and builders because it has become a very unique learning opportunity.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has influenced my future career goals in a positive way because I have really enjoyed jumping into design and becoming more proficient with Creo. Working along other engineers and observing how they designed certain things was really fascinating to me and I have learned a lot. This co-op experience has just expanded on the fact that I really enjoy the visual components of this profession.
