Description of the Organization
The Visser YMCA is one of the smaller YMCAs of the 8 YMCAs of the greater grand rapids area and serves as workout facility, childcare, youth and adult programs, and sport leagues. The YMCA strives to build stronger communities through spirit, mind, and body.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Concussion form data collection and computer input, staff meetings, program migration, inventory management, volunteer organization, forming league teams, budget evaluation and forecasting.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Organizational skills, computer skills, problem solving, crisis management, customer service, networking.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Shadowing the process of researching sport budget demographics and history as well as program forecasting to be used in a powerpoint to be presented to the board of directors.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
My experience with the YMCA contributed to being chosen as the intern for my next semester 490 experience. The networking and professional experience benefitted me as well.
