Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked on the controls side of a R&D storage machine as well as a semi-automated assembly line for a major manufacturer.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned how to program more effectively with PLCs and HMIs. I also worked on a vision inspection station for detecting part variants.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I really enjoyed working a project from initial power-up until the final runoff. There were numerous obstacles that had to be overcome in the process, and I found the process to be very rewarding.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It has definitely made me consider working in controls engineering after I graduate. I enjoy the immediate results of my work that takes place in the debug and runoff process of designing and building a complex machine.
