Description of the Organization
Unbelievable experience. Heads over my previous experience at a different company. I was taken seriously and felt as though I was an employee rather than just an intern. Was apart of a team and learned countless lessons on what it is like to work at one of the best companies in the world!
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I wrote documentation for a software tool that my team was working on developing and releasing. I worked in Visual Basic Excel to create a few tools for senior level engineers. I wrote code in C# for a metrics dashboard. I worked in a Gypsum mine cataloging data that we have stored there.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
The most valuable skill I developed was my interpersonal skills. How a business works and the overall engineering process of how software is developed and released. The lessons I learned were invaluable and will aid me for the rest of my career.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The people. The people I worked with were so helpful and were always willing to lend a hand. I enjoyed setting goals and working my hardest to achieve them before the deadline.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Absolutely! I have solidified my goals and hope to return to GE and apply to the Edison Development Program at GE. I now know what I need to do over the next 2 years of my education to put myself in a position to succeed at GE.
