Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
This rotation I was able to step into the light of the Systems team, where I helped work on Avionic's systems specifically dealing with dynamically tuned gyros. The goal of my internship what to help manage their work instructions for their manufactuirng operations, as well as help work on testing and analysis work that needed to get done for the team. We are scarse on mechanical engineers, so I was able to really take reigns to help get things done.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned a lot about GD&T, mechanical design, and electrical design and requirements. I was able to take a look into a completely different business dealing with huge companies helping to oversee products and supplier relations.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part was being given the opportunity to learn and grow as an independent engineer. I was treated a lot like I was an engineer, which was nice.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I realized that I do not want to work for GE, as the company feel is too big for me. I'm excited to look beyond for other opportunities that might come my way.
