Pricing for shipping methods is provided during the creation of the customs forms. Departments do not have to pay at the time of creating the form but do see the price and will be charged by Mail Services to the provided worktags.
International mail must be separated from your domestic mail. Packages being sent international will require a customs declaration form identifying content like books and papers.
The International Customs Forms must be filled out by the department prior to arriving at the mailroom. Follow the instructions to complete the form online using this link International Customs Forms - USPS.
International Customs Declaration Form Example:
Mail Services requires two printed copies of this form when shipping international packages.
Departments are responsible for keeping record of their tracking numbers. Keep the tracking number (below the barcode) for your records.
This is only a receipt and is not an international customs declaration form.
This should be kept by the department for their records.
When sending international packages; departments can select from the following options:
Global Express Guaranteed Shipment - Delivers international shipments in 3 to 5 business days. This service is traceable; however, this service is not available to all countries.
Priority Mail Express International Service - Delivers international shipments in 3 to 5 business days.
Priority Mail International Service - Delivers international shipments in 6 to 10 business days.
First-Class Package International Service - Most affordable lightweight international shipment option. Package must be less than 4 pounds and have a value no more than $400.00 value.
