eLearning - Step 3: Activities
Description
Learning activities are an excellent vehicle for taking theory to practice. Well designed activities should involve multimedia use, rubrics, and student choice to increase student engagement. In this session, we will discuss different learning activities that you may tailor for specific use in your courses for all delivery modalities, with a focus on online instruction.
Criteria
- Use your Course Alignment Map and list your learning activities in the 3rd column, to match your course learning outcomes/objectives.
- Try something new - Build a new, engaging student activity sparked from the ideas that we’ve shared
- Create/Add the content and activities in your Ultra course
Deadline
- End of the semester following the semester in which the badge-worthy activity took place.

Learning Objectives
- Identify the main components of a learning activity.
- Describe the process for structuring course content.
- Model a mixed media learning activity in a course, using the UDL framework.
- Integrate the four types of interaction into the activities.
- Implement the Activities step on a Course Alignment Map, aligned to course objectives and any assessments for the topic.
