Thanks to a partnership between GVSU and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, all faculty, staff and students may sign up for a YMCA membership and utilize any of its six branch locations across the Grand Rapids area.

While there is no initial cost to the membership, all memberships are taxable, according to IRS-mandated regulations.

To enroll for a membership or adjust your current YMCA membership, bring your valid GVSU faculty/staff ID to any of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids’ six branch locations:

  • David D. Hunting YMCA, 475 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids

  • Litehouse Family YMCA, 1070 N. Hudson St., Lowell

  • Mary Free Bed, 5500 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids

  • SpartanNash YMCA, 5722 Metro Way SW, Wyoming

  • Visser Family YMCA, 3540 Fairlanes Ave. SW, Grandville

  • Wolverine Worldwide Family, 6555 Jupiter Ave. NE, Belmont

Upgrades to the membership or adding family members to your membership are available at additional costs.

Visit the YMCA website for more information. Questions can be also directed to the YMCA at [email protected] or by calling (616) 855-9622.
