Elvia
Elvia consistently knew she wanted to make her parents proud. As a first-generation college student studying political science, it was the help of the scholarships she received and the incredible opportunities from the Cook Leadership Academy that ultimately allowed her to complete her college degree in April 2020. She hopes to attend graduate school and eventually pay forward the kindness she has received herself through a career in higher education, helping other first-generation students. Elvia says, “Thanks to the scholarships I’ve received, I have not only made it, but I’ve made my family proud. Thank you!”
