Helen J. Hunting moved to Grand Rapids from Long Island, NY in 1950. She has served the community through many roles of leadership and nonprofit events. Her board service includes the Junior League of Grand Rapids, John Ball Zoological Society, and Kent County Humane Society.

As a family, the Huntings have continued their philanthropic path, supporting both the YWCA and the YMCA, which carries their family name. They have also supported the John Ball Zoological Society and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Helen and Allen are known throughout West Michigan as rock-solid and reliable, a couple that can be counted on to always be there for their friends, family, and community.
