James (Jim) Jurries is the President of Jurries Capital Management, Inc. and the Jim and Ginger Jurries Foundation. He and his late wife, Ginger, were key honorees at the 2003 West Michigan National Philanthropy Day Awards Celebration, sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), West Michigan Chapter. They received the 2003 Distinguished Philanthropist Award for their deep commitment to building community in the Lakeshore area through their gifts and volunteer activities, including Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area, Rest Haven, Project Charlie, Hospice of Holland, Evergreen Commons, the Lakeshore Pregnancy Center, Hope College, and the Boys and Girls Club. Jim serves as a director on the Grand Valley University Foundation, and is on the Board of Trustees of Hope College.
