Joyce F. Hecht
As the former director of Development and as executive director of the Grand Valley University Foundation, Joyce Hecht worked with former Grand Valley State University President Arend D. Lubbers and friends of the university to the raise more than $50 million in private funds for Grand Valley's capital projects, including the $6 million Fred M. Keller Engineering Laboratories Building. She also oversaw the $9 million campaign that made possible the Eberhard Center and the Meijer Public Broadcast Center, the first facilities on Grand Valley's Grand Rapids campus. She then directed the campaign that raised $17 million for the DeVos Center. Additionally, Joyce raised funds for the Annis Water Resources Institute and its research and education vessels, our engineering program, public broadcasting (WGVU-TV and radio), minority and other student scholarships, National Science Olympiad, and the Lake Michigan Center in Muskegon.
