Laker Ambassadors encourage philanthropic support for Grand Valley State University by sharing alumni relations content and opportunities to give back to the university on their personal social media channels. By working together, we can inspire others and make a difference. 

Become a Laker Ambassador

What does it mean to be a Laker Ambassador?

Ambassadors agree to share digital communications via their personal social media channels around major university events and fundraising campaigns including Giving Tuesday in November and Day of Giving in March. Ambassadors may participate as much or as little as their schedule allows.

• Ambassadors are encouraged to create their own posts with engaging photo and video content focused on the value and impact of giving to GVSU
• Ambassadors will also be provided social media graphics and suggested post copy to leverage around major giving days
• Ambassadors will engage with giving-related social media content across GVSU-related social media channels by liking, commenting, sharing, etc. 
• Ambassadors will serve as spokespeople for Grand Valley when talking with fellow alumni, family, and friends

Who can be a Laker Ambassador?

Anyone who is a Laker at heart can participate. Ambassadors will be asked to share their GVSU story and favorite GVSU memories. Requirements for participation are as follows:

• Ambassadors must be 18+
• Ambassadors must have a personal social media profile on any major platform. Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn are preferred

• Opportunities to build your personal network
• Giving back to the GVSU community and support funds to make a difference for current and future Lakers
