Tripp Frey
David G. “Tripp” Frey, Jr. grew up in West Michigan. His parents, David and Judy Frey, were longtime supporters of Grand Valley. Tripp holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
As the Trustee and Board Chair of the Frey Foundation, Tripp oversees the foundation endowment and operating budget. His role extends to the investment and grant committees, where he applies his expertise to shape endowment strategies and philanthropic investments.
Tripp chairs the Ecliptic at Rosa Parks Circle Conservancy, providing direction over the preservation of Maya Lin's public art/park, and is a board member at Grand Rapids Whitewater. He also serves as Capital Campaign Co-Chair for Grand Action 2.0, where he leads a $50 million fundraising effort.
Most recently Tripp worked at Voke Tab Inc, where he built out national distribution. He was a founder of Revolution Farms and Founded Trew Gear, a respected brand in the outdoor apparel industry. His earlier career included a stop as Analyst at JPMorgan Asset Management.
