Jennifer A. Moore

Jennifer A. Moore, Ph.D., serves as the Interim Assistant Vice Provost of The Graduate School at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and has been an integral part of the GVSU community since August 2012. In addition to her leadership role in the Graduate School, she is an Associate Professor of Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Moore holds a B.S. in Zoology and a B.A. in Spanish from Northern Michigan University, an M.S. in Biology from Central Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in Ecology and Biodiversity from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Her academic journey includes two postdoctoral fellowships, one at the University of Alaska Southeast and the other at Michigan State University.

A recognized expert in biodiversity conservation, Dr. Moore’s research and teaching have earned her numerous accolades and taken her across the globe. She has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, often collaborating with students and international researchers. Dr. Moore also serves as an associate editor for two journals and is an active board member for various task forces dedicated to threatened and endangered species. Her contributions extend to advisory roles on multi-agency teams focused on species recovery, where her expertise in wildlife conservation is highly valued.
