Student/Faculty Research Team Published
May 09, 2018
A student and faculty research team in the School of Public, Nonprofit, and Health Administration was recently published in the Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership. Faculty member, Salvatore Alaimo, Ph.D. and graduate student, Shinyoung Park researched the effectiveness of using video content for teaching and learning in philanthropic and nonprofit studies programs in the U.S. Their project is titled, “Use of Video in Philanthropic and Nonprofit Studies Programs.” Dr. Alaimo earned his Ph.D. in Philanthropic Studies and his Master’s degree in Urban Studies, concentrating in Nonprofit Administration.
Shinyoung earned her Master of Public Administration from GVSU and worked as a graduate assistant in the School of Public, Nonprofit, and Health Administration. Dr. Alaimo said, “This is the first time I have ever co-authored anything, as all of my previous work has been solo. I couldn’t have accomplished this research without Shinyoung’s hard work, so I am grateful for the opportunity to work with her.”
Dr. Alaimo will present this research at a pre-conference teaching section at the annual ARNOVA conference in Austin, TX in November.
