MS in Biology Student Receives Research Grant
April 15, 2016
Emily Kindervater, a Biology graduate student working at the Annis Water Research Institute, received a Lake Research Grant from the Michigan Chapter of the North American Lake Management Society. Emily’s project is entitled “Phosphorus Retention in West Michigan Two Stage Agricultural Ditches”, which focuses on two-stage ditches and their ability to retain phosphorus in comparison to traditional ditches. The hope is that Emily’s research will improve the effectiveness of two-stage ditches within the Lake Macatawa watershed to reduce phosphorus load to lakes. Congratulations to Emily on receiving this grant to further her research.
