MBA Graduate creates product to improve the lives of people living with Raynaud's Disease

Michael Kurley, a graduate of the Master of Business Administration program at GVSU uses his entrepreneurial spirit to improve people’s lives. Michael explained that the professors at GVSU brought real life experience and case based learning into the curriculum and sparked an entrepreneurial and innovative side of him.
Michael is the CEO of Soletics, a medical device technology solutions company that was founded in 2012 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The focus of Soletics is to improve the quality of life of those living with Raynaud’s disease. Raynaud’s disease causes spasms in the nerve bundles surrounding blood vessels, which results in an interruption of blood flow to the area affected, which is commonly the fingers and toes. This causes the body to react stronger than normal to cold or stress and the only way to reverse affects is by applying heat to the area. The Soletics “Raynaud's Smart Glove” technology helps Reynaud’s sufferers with a one-of-a-kind solution. This thin, automatic heating glove technology has sensors in each individual fingertip. The sensors create a barrier of heat to help people with Reynaud’s disease combat the cold temperatures.
