GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Valley State University undergraduate
entrepreneurs will showcase their ideas, network with business
professionals and compete for cash prizes in the fifth annual Idea
Pitch Competition.
The competition is Wednesday, October 7, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the
Loosemore Auditorium of Grand Valley’s DeVos Center on the Pew Grand
Rapids Campus, 401 Fulton St. W.
Competitors will make 90-second pitches, which will be analyzed
by a panel of judges based on the quality of their idea and
presentation. The first place prize is $1,500. Second place is $900
and third place is $400. The event is open to the public and media
coverage is encouraged.
The event is hosted by Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization
student group. More than 90 students interested in participating
submitted applications. The submissions were reviewed by the Michigan
Small Business and Technology Development Center for feasibility and
overall idea quality. The top 20 applicants are invited to
participate.
