Dozens of area college students will have the opportunity to
showcase their research at the 3rd annual West Michigan Undergraduate
Science Research Conference. Area faculty and researchers will examine
the students’ work and offer professional critiques.
The event, sponsored in part by Grand Valley State University,
will be held Saturday, October 31, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Van Andel
Research Institute in Grand Rapids. Students will present their
research posters during two sessions, at 9:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
The following faculty will give talks at the conference:

Corporation for Science Advancement
• Nick Duesbery, scientific
investigator, Van Andel Research Institute
• Kumar Sinniah,
chemistry professor, Calvin College
• Katrina Hartman, chemistry
professor, Aquinas College
Other conference participants include, Calvin College, Hope
College, Aquinas College, Ferris State University, Michigan State
University, Grand Rapids Community College and Van Andel Research Institute.
