Two Grand Valley students receive national award

Two Grand Valley State University students were selected as Most Promising Minority Students in an annual competition by the American Advertising Federation. This is the third consecutive year that students from Grand Valley have been selected as finalists for this national recognition.

Ebony D. Arnold and Amanda Krieger were nominated by assistant professor Roy Winegar in Grand Valley's School of Communications. Both students were selected based on their nomination letter, transcript, resume, a 15-word self-descriptive tag line and an essay detailing how their skills and experience will enable their success and impact efforts to create a more inclusive advertising industry.

As part of their award, the two senior advertising and public relations students will receive an expense-paid trip to New York, in February, to be among about 40 students honored. The three-day event includes networking and immersion opportunities with leaders from many of the top advertising and public relations firms in the country.
