Webinar highlights academic advising

Faculty and staff members are invited to register for a Webinar from the Michigan chapter of the National Academic Advising Association on standards and core values within advising.

“Using the CAS Standards, NACADA Core Values and NACADA Concept of Academic Advising” is set for Tuesday, December 15, from 1:45-3:30 p.m. in Loosemore Auditorium of the DeVos Center. A follow-up discussion is planned for January 21, 1:30-3 p.m., in the Kirkhof Center, rooms 2215/2216.

Leijhi A. Koval, director of the Early Alert and Student Success Program, said the Webinar will discuss issues such as developing consistent titles for academic advisors, and how to implement the CAS standards to further improve advising at GVSU, among other issues.
