Campus mourns loss of faculty member

Benjamin Mutnick, affiliate professor of hospitality and tourism management, died November 28 following a battle with bone cancer. He was 29.

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, December 1, in Farmington Hills at the Birmingham Temple on West 12 Mile Road.

Paul Stansbie, assistant professor and department chair, said Mutnick was a great asset to the HTM program.

“During his time with us, he became a very popular faculty member, interjecting humor and contemporary perspectives into his hospitality law classes,” Stansbie said. “His commitment to the students was unmatched even during the most difficult of times with his illness. He will be missed by all.”
