Health and Wellness will celebrate National Bike to Work Week, May
17-21, with numerous events planned.
A Connecting Campuses Bike Ride will be held Thursday, May 20,
beginning at either the Alumni House or Bike Factory Building. Riders
have the option to do a 6-, 13- or 26-mile ride. There is no cost to
participate. Register for the ride online at
www.gvsu.edu/healthwellness and click on the "Bike to Work" button.
Bike safety demonstrations will be held with representatives
from the Grand Rapids Bicycling Company. Demonstrations are scheduled
for Tuesday, May 18, from noon-1 p.m. or 5-6 p.m. in the Kirkhof
Center, room 2201; and Wednesday, May 19, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the
University Club Room, DeVos Center. Register to attend a demonstration
online at www.gvsu.edu/seminar.
Discounts at area businesses are available next week. These are
detailed on the Health and Wellness website; faculty and staff members
need to show a Grand Valley ID and bring a bike helmet to be eligible.
