An educational and fundraising event to help the victims of the
earthquake in Haiti is being organized by the Padnos International Center.
The event will take place Tuesday, January 19, from 5-6 p.m. in
the Louis Armstrong Theatre of the Performing Arts Center on the
Allendale Campus.
Presentations will be given by students and faculty who have
connections to Haiti. Peter Wampler, assistant professor of geology,
will share information about his water projects in Haiti and Doug
Porritt, executive director of Rays of Hope for Haiti in Grand Rapids,
will give an update on relief efforts through his organization.
Donations will be accepted and distributed to two relief
organizations: Rays of Hope for Haiti of Grand Rapids and Partners in Health.
