Next up in the Grand Valley State University Artist-Faculty Series
is nationally known pedagogue of trombone, Mark R. Williams, who
joined the Department of Music faculty in 2008.
His performance, open to the public with free admission, is
Monday, March 15, at 8 p.m. in the Cook-DeWitt Center, on the
Allendale Campus.
Previously, Williams served for more than 22 years in the United
States Air Force. As principal trombonist with the USAF Concert Band
in Washington, D.C., for 14 years, he performed in all 50 states and
throughout Europe and Asia. He was a featured soloist in numerous
concerts and on national tours and was a guest soloist with the U.S.
Army Band at the Eastern Trombone Workshop.
Williams can be heard on more than 30 compact discs recorded
during his tenure with the USAF Concert Band. For more information,
