ALLENDALE, Mich. — Students from Grand Valley State University will
be joining students from other public universities around the state to
rally support for higher education.
The Student Association of Michigan and the student governments
at each public university are hosting the rally called the Lansing
Blitz on March 25.
“This rally will serve as a wake-up call to state lawmakers,”
said Autumn Trombka, Grand Valley Student Senate president. “They will
hear from students about how devastating cuts in higher education have
been to our institutions and to the individuals who represent the
future of this state.”
Grand Valley’s Student Senate is providing a bus to Lansing for
students who want to attend. There is a $10 refundable cash deposit
made when the student signs up and gets a ticket to the rally. That
money will be returned when the student boards the bus.
The bus will leave Kirkhof Center on March 25 at 9 a.m. and will
return at approximately 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available now at the
Student Senate Office in the lower level of the Kirkhof Center.
