To celebrate the kickoff of Hispanic Heritage Month in September,
the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Women's Center are
sponsoring a poster series that will detail the life journeys of
students, alumni, faculty and staff members who are Hispanic.
Gricelda Estrada, assistant director of OMA, said this new
project will showcase Hispanic members of the campus community who
want to share their journeys and discuss the influence family, friends
and community have had on their lives.
If you would like to volunteer for this project, or would like
to nominate someone, contact Estrada at x12177 or via e-mail at
[email protected], or Jo Ann Wassenaar, associate director of the
Women’s Center, at x12748 or [email protected]. The deadline to
nominate somone, or yourself, is June 11.
Those chosen for the poster project will be interviewed and
photographed by staff members from the News and Information Services
office. The posters will be displayed throughout Hispanic Heritage
Month, which runs September 15-October 15, and highlighted during a
reception in mid-September.
