The Golden Shoe Trophy will continue its tour around Grand Valley
this month, landing with top teams who competed in the pedometer
challenge sponsored by Health and Wellness.
The winning team in category I was comprised of Christopher
Jeffries, Jeff Marcinkowski, Ken Haskin and Terry Pahl from Facilities
Planning. They walked a total of 1,651 miles during the eight-week
"Battle of the Valleys" fall challenge.
Winners in category II were Akiko Flanders, Jim Flanders, Paul
Nederveld, Scott Whisler, from Facilities Services. All teams who
placed are listed online at www.gvsu.edu/healthwellness, and click on
"Wellness Services."
Grand Valley beat Saginaw Valley State University in the challenge.
Laker participants walked more than 108 million steps, compared to
SVSU's 47 million.
