Grand Valley President Thomas J. Haas addressed the NCAA Divison II's proposed 'Life in the Balance' initiative in an opinion article published by the NCAA News.
The initiative proposes to reduce the number of some athletic contests in an effort to focus more on student-athlete well-being, work/life balance and time devoted to being a student.
"Life in the Balance isn’t about getting smaller, but about getting better," Haas wrote.
