GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grand Valley State University's Seidman
College of Business kicks off its inaugural Executive Education
program with a two-day seminar focused on practical skills relating to
inter-generational issues in the workplace.
The program, "Understanding and Managing Generations at
Work," runs Friday, February 26 from 1-5 p.m. and Saturday,
February 27 from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The seminar is for managers,
supervisors and others who wish to gain practical insight and skills
regarding the challenges of managing varied generations of employees
in the workplace. Facilitators include Faye Thompson, former HR
Director at Louis Padnos Iron & Metal Co.; Grand Valley Business
Ethics Center director Michael DeWilde; and professors Marie McKendall
of the Seidman College of Business Management Department, and Erc
Hanson of the Philosophy Department.
The seminar has a $595 fee with limited enrollment in order to
maximize learning. A breakfast and networking lunch are included. This
program has been submitted to the Human Resources Certification
Institute. A Certificate of Completion and CE credit is available by
program attendance.
The next program, "Understanding and Implementing
Sustainability as a Real Practice," is set for April 23-24. For
