Campaign kicks off with '50 reasons for giving'

Grand Valley's Faculty Staff Campaign for 2010-2011 kicked-off this week. Campaign leaders hope to surpass last year's record setting achievements.

Last year the Faculty Staff Campaign reached its goal of having 50 percent of all faculty and staff giving to Grand Valley, setting a university record and making Grand Valley the most generous university  community in Michigan. The goal was set as part of the university's 50th anniversary celebration.

More than $579,000 was raised to support student scholarships, a variety of general and programmatic funds and capital projects like the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons.

This year’s kick-off events, held at both the Allendale and Pew campuses, provided materials and support for more than 140 volunteers who help lead the campaign campus-wide.
