Timothy Sleep is unable to perform at the GVSU International
Carillon Concert Series, as was scheduled on July 17 and 20. The
concerts will go on with new performers taking his place.
Dennis Curry, carillonneur at Kirk in the Hills in Bloomfield
Hills, Mich. will perform Sunday, July 17, from 8-9:30 p.m., during
the 17th Annual Cook Carillon International Concert Series, on the
Allendale Campus. Curry is immediate past president of The Guild of
Carillonneurs in North America. He has been a performer often on both
of the Grand Valley State University carillons.
A performance is planned by Sue Bergren on Wednesday, July 20 at
noon, as part of the 11th Annual Beckering Family Carillon
International Concert Series, Lacks International Plaza at Richard M.
DeVos Center, Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus, 401 Fulton Street
West, Grand Rapids. Bergren and her husband Mark own American Carillon
Music Editions, a publishing company for music written for the
carillon. She has previously performed at Grand Valley and regularly
plays in Naperville Illinois and at the University of Chicago
Rockefeller Chapel. Free parking available in Watson Lot, south of
Fulton Street behind Secchia Hall.
All concerts are free admission and open to the public, rain or
shine.
