Consumers Energy Foundation today supported construction of Grand Valley’s L. William Seidman Center with a $20,000 gift.
The foundation is a longtime friend of Grand Valley. The gift underscores the importance of the university’s public-private partnerships that have been a hallmark of Grand Valley’s success for the past 50 years.
When completed, the Seidman Center will fully house the Seidman College of Business and strengthen its identity in the regional and national business community. The building will provide needed space for students, faculty and staff members in the college to collaborate and will feature state-of-the-art technology, including a trading room.
The Seidman Center will be a front door to the business community, consolidating support for business development, executives and entrepreneurs, and will raise Grand Valley’s profile as one of the state’s primary economic and leadership engines.
Grand Valley officials announced October 6 that $20 million of the necessary $25 million in private funds to construct the center has been raised. The total project cost is $40 million. Completion of the center is scheduled for 2013.
