A model from the 2005 Dove Campaign for Real Beauty will give a
presentation on campus during Conversations on Loving Your Body, which
is held in conjunction with National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
Stacy Nadeau will discuss “Embracing Real Beauty” on Thursday,
February 24, at 4 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center, Grand River Room. The
event is LIB 100 and US 201 approved.
The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty celebrated different body
types and individual beauty, breaking down stereotypes of beauty.
Nadeau will discuss the role that men and women can each play to
make a positive impact on changing the messages young women receive
about beauty. She will explore how change begins at the individual
level, and how positive body image talk can create a wave of change
toward ideas of beauty.
Other events during Conversations on Loving Your Body include a
film series, body image presentations and eating disorder screenings.
