Faculty and Staff Campaign ahead of last year's pace

President Thomas J. Haas congratulated volunteers at the March 16 Faculty and Staff Campaign celebration on the success of this year’s campaign, which is running ahead of last year’s pace.

The participation rate is 44.2 percent, compared to 39 percent at this time last year. A total of $524,000 has been raised so far, 18 percent more than last year. Nine departments have reached 100 percent giving levels, and 18 departments are at higher percentage levels of giving than last year. 

Haas encouraged faculty and staff members to keep up this steady pace of giving through the end of June so that the campaign can reach its goal of more than 50 percent participation. He said that through private gifts Grand Valley can continue to provide the “edge of excellence that makes the university such a special place to work and learn.”
