Faculty and staff sketches

News and Information Services received Communicator Awards for the following videos: 2010 Spring Commencement, 50th Anniversary, 2010 Scholarship Dinner and Around Grand Valley Tour.

WGVU received Communicator Awards for "LZ Michigan: A Journey Home," LZ Michigan Commemorative Magazine, Real Oldies Billboard and Gerald R. Ford Keel Laying.

Charter Schools Office received a Communicator Award for its 2010 Annual Report.

Institutional Marketing received Communicator Awards for design for the following publications: Grand Valley Magazine fall 2010 issue,  Grand Valley Celebrates 50 Years of Shaping Lives, Foundation Annual Report 2010
and Holocaust Event Poster.

John Kilbourne, professor of movement science, gave a presentation, "Inuit and Sami Games," at the Bridging Local & Scientific Knowledge in the Arctic Conference in Paris, France. 

Grand Valley received the Public University of the Year award from the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars in Washington, D.C. Grand Valley was recognized for its commitment to providing students with a quality internship experience in the nation's capital.

Al Steinman, director of the Annis Water Resources Institute, gave one presentation and was a co-author on four other presentations at the annual meeting of the International Association of Great Lakes Research in Duluth, Minnesota. He was also named a peer reviewer for U.S. EPA's panel on Extreme Event Impacts on Air Quality and Water Quality with a Changing Global Climate to be held in Washington D.C. in July.
