WGVU received Accolade awards for "LZ Michigan: A Journey Home" in both the Documentary/Series Category and Dramatic Impact Category.

Valerie Rhodes-Sorrelle, senior strategic sourcing specialist, was elected as second vice president of the National Association of Educational Procurement.

Ashley Nickels, assistant director of the Women’s Center, received the Doris Little Activist of the Year Award from the Michigan National Organization for Women at the organization's annual conference.

Russell Rhoads, associate professor of anthropology, gave a presentation, "Using Anthropology to Assess Engagements between Farmers Markets, Communities, and Students," at the Central States Anthropological Society Annual Meeting in Iowa City, Iowa.

Writing faculty members Ellen Schendel, Dan Royer and Chris Haven were panelists for a session, "Beyond Rhetoric and Composition: The Liberal Arts Writing Major," at the Conference on College Composition and Communication in Atlanta, Georgia.
