Fitness day promotes healthy lifestyles

Grand Valley is participating in National Fitness and Sports Recreation Day on Tuesday, February 22, to encourage the campus community to develop and maintain healthy lifestyles.

Organized by Campus Recreation, all group exercise classes in the Fieldhouse are free for the day and passes for the semester are half off. There will be a Zumba Party from 9-11 p.m. on the basketball courts in Recreation Center. It’s free and open to the public.

National Fitness and Sports Recreation Day was founded by the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) in 1950, and was proclaimed in 1999 for nationwide focus on the positive benefits of recreational sports, fitness and wellness.

Visit the Campus Recreation website for more information about the day and to view a schedule of group exercise classes.
