Graduate students honored

Thirty-four graduate students and six faculty members will be honored with Graduate Dean’s Citation Awards during a ceremony April 22, from 5-7 p.m. at the Eberhard Center. The students will be recognized for excellence in academic performance.

Each student winner is given a certificate of recognition and a graduate honors cord which can be worn at commencement. Recipients of the thesis, project, and publication awards, as well as the two service awards, also receive a gold star symbolizing a high level of performance in academic work.

Graduate students are nominated for these awards by staff, faculty, advisors, the graduate program director, and the departmental chair or school director who is familiar with the individual student’s accomplishments. Nominees are reviewed by the dean of Graduate Studies who makes the final selection.

The event is hosted by the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) and the Office of Graduate Studies.
