Guest Artist Series: Andrea Ridilla, oboe, and Tatjana Ognanoska, piano

A music recital by a talented trio, including a Grand Valley graduate, is planned for Thursday, October 13, from 8-9:30 p.m. at Sherman Van Solkema Recital Hall, Performing Arts Center, GVSU Allendale Campus.

Andrea Ridilla, professor of oboe at Miami University, holds a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School. She is principal oboe of the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria and principal oboe of the Middletown Symphony. Her new CD, "L'amore Italiano," the lyrical oboe in opera and cinema is available on the Kleos label of Helicon Records New York.

Ridilla has performed at the renowned Esplanade Hall in Singapore, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Ecuador, Luxembourg, Germany, Korea, and Macedonia. With the Miami Wind Quintet, Ridilla recorded three collaborative compact discs with the Prague Wind Quintet featuring Czech wind music. She has given master classes throughout the U.S., Canada, Venezuela, Taiwan, Ecuador, and Korea.

Joining Ridilla will be pianist Tatjana Ognanoska who serves on the faculty of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Music University in Macedonia. Oboist Mezraq Ramli, a GVSU graduate, will also perform on the recital. Ramli is an oboe graduate assistant at Miami University (Ohio).
