Grand Valley is hosting two events to observe Worlds AIDS Day on
December 1. Since 1988, the first day of December aims to celebrate
the progress that has been made to battle the epidemic.
The Criminalization of HIV/AIDS
4 p.m., room 215, Eberhard Center, Pew Grand Rapids Campus
Criminal law and social justice concerns of HIV and AIDS will be
explored in a presentation by Todd Heywood, a reporter for news
publication Michigan Messenger.
Harm Reduction
6:30 p.m., room 215, Eberhard Center, Pew Grand Rapids Campus
Ways to reduce risks of contracting HIV and outdated prevention
practices will be discussed.
Sponsored by student group FACE AIDS, free and confidential HIV testing will be available on Wednesday, November 30, from noon-3 p.m. at DeVos Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus in rooms 207E and 213E.
The events are LIB 100 and US 201 approved and co-sponsored by LGBT
Resource Center, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Women’s Center and
The Red Project.
