A celebration of the next generation of archaeologists is planned
for Saturday, October 22, from 1-3 p.m., room 121E DeVos Center, on
the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.
Students from area universities will present highlights of their
archaeology experiences, as part of National Archaeology Day events in
more than 100 cities across the U.S. and Canada. All sessions are free
and open to the public.
The program is organized by the Archaeology Institute of
America, which works through Local Societies to preserve the world’s
archaeological resources and cultural heritage. With nearly 250,000
members from all walks of life, AIA is a diverse group united by a
shared passion for archaeology and its role in furthering human knowledge.
