The new FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, signed January 4,
represents the most sweeping overhaul of food safety legislation since
1938. U.S. food imports are growing rapidly and Michigan is an
important producer and exporter of agricultural products. A seminar
exploring trends in food import and export is being held by the Van
Andel Global Trade Center at Grand Valley State University.
