Study will evaluate social media habits

Do you check-in at Grand Valley on Foursquare? Are you a Tweeter? How do you use Facebook?

Social media is a new frontier for higher education, and institutions nationwide are taking advantage of the unique opportunities social media platforms provide for campus communities. Grand Valley continuously looks for ways to better serve the campus community through different outlets.

On March 21 a brief survey was sent to the entire campus community asking for participation; it will close April 11. The research, conducted by the Social Media Committee at Grand Valley, will evaluate how and where the Grand Valley community uses social media.

The data collected will allow the committee to learn about the social media habits of the Grand Valley community, evaluate the university’s current social media practices and prepare for the future. Results will be shared this summer.
