WGVU will host a free screening of “Surviving Auschwitz: Children
of the Shoah” at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre on Tuesday, January 25, at
6:30 p.m.
The WGVU documentary follows two concentration camp survivors
during their journey back to Auschwitz. Tova Friedman and Frieda
Tenenbaum were among the youngest of 7,000 prisoners found alive by a
regiment of the Soviet army at the end of World War II. In 2004, the
two women journeyed to Auschwitz accompanied by their own children and
a WGVU film crew.
